Yours truly got to attend the "From Warhol to Picasso" exhibition at the High Museum of Art! Definitely worth a visit, and you still have time, as it will be there until April 29, 2012.
14 Iconoclasts! With Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Constantin Brancusi, Piet Mondrian, Fernand Léger, Marcel Duchamp, Giorgio De Chirico, Joan Miró, Romare Bearden, Alexander Calder, Jackson Pollock, Louise Bourgeois, Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol. Every turn, was history, stunning pieces from these few great minds who have reshaped modern art and left a lasting impression on everything from commercial art to abstract thinking. I had never seen Warhol's self portrait before, and it was also very cool to be able to see his film tests, where the infamous Lou Reed posed with a Coke-a-Cola.
The whole experience was dream-like, as I stood face to face, a few inches from a Picasso piece painted on cardboard. Pollock's section was introduced with a fantastic video of him actually painting and creating his work. So much revolutionary art concentrated to one wing of this museum.
