Easy Pulled Pork | Food Forays

This pulled pork recipe is simple enough to make on any busy week day, yet delicious enough to serve for a Superbowl party. The ingredients are common, and I used boneless pork loin chops which often go on sale really cheap.

The first thing to do, is combine 1 cup of ketchup, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, three tablespoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon prepared mustard, 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder in a small bowl.

Put the sauce ingredients in a small bowl, and mix well.

Put the chops in a slow cooker, and cover with the sauce. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. If you don't have a slow cooker, put them in an oven-proof dish with a lid, or tightly covered with foil at 300 degrees for 4-5 hours.

Pour the sauce over the pork chops, and give a bit of a stir so all the chops are covered. Cook 6-8 hours on low in a slow cooker, or 4-5 hours in a 300 degree oven.

You'll know they're ready when you can simply use two forks to shred the meat. Shred all of it, and stir the mixture well. Put a generous serving on your favourite dinner rolls or buns, and serve with coleslaw for a great meal!

The meat should shred easily with two forks, and the sauce should blend in well.

If you're having people over for Superbowl Sunday, you can serve this up as pulled pork sliders. Get the small dinner rolls from your local grocery store, and serve the meat on them. Top with your favourite coleslaw recipe, and pile them on a platter for an impressive finger food type snack!

I've always been very passionate about writing and cooking so I thought I would combine the two, and help others learn to cook budget-friendly, health-conscious meals.
